  • Research Interest

       Cancer, Metastasis, Cancer stem cell, miRNA, Epigenetics, Bioinformatics, Genomics

       Research in Dr. Ryu's lab is focused on the initiation and progression of metastatic lesions derived from many cancers including breast and   
       prostate cancer. A major aim is to understand molecular mechanisms that regulate tumor growth and metastasis. Cancer cell frequently shows
       aberrant signaling pathways at several levels including transcriptional regulation, epigenetic regulation, and translational regulation by microRNAs.
       Dr. Ryu is interested in understanding how these signaling pathways are integrated to regulate key tumorigenic processes including angiogenesis,
       EMT, therapeutic resistance, metastasis initiation and progression. A major aim is to determine the diagnostic and therapeutic potential of
       candidate molecules in collaboration with clinicians.
